How to estimate the volume and quantity of packaging in a vehicle

To plan delivery, it helps to know the volume of a batch of packaging in cubic metres, its weight and how much fits into a vehicle. The calculator above works this out automatically from the dimensions of each item in our catalogue. Below are answers to the most common questions.

How many pallets fit in a semi-trailer?

A standard tilt semi-trailer (13.6 m) holds about 33 euro pallets in one tier, with a usable cargo volume of roughly 86 m³. The exact amount of packaging depends on its dimensions and how it is stacked.

What are the standard pallet sizes?

A euro pallet (EUR) is 800×1200 mm, a Finnish pallet (FIN) is 1000×1200 mm. A loaded pallet is usually up to 1.8–2.0 m high.

How many canisters fit in a semi-trailer?

It depends on the volume. For example, about 11,000 four-litre canisters in a polypropylene sleeve fit into a semi-trailer. The calculator above gives the exact figure for any item.

How is the packaging volume calculated?

The volume of one unit = height × width × length; the total volume = unit volume × quantity. The calculator takes dimensions from our catalogue, so the figures match the real products.
